This topic i chose for this semester is "Do we survive death?". This question has intrigued me for a long time, so what better time to research it then when i can also make it homework? (two birds with one stone maybe?)
There are many beliefs about life after death, some so afraid of the subject, they wont even talk about it! On the other hand, some claim to have had, "after death experiences". Such as Pam Reynolds, a scientist whom studies Life after death, decided to make an experiment w other trained scientist, so manually shut down most vital organ, including her brain. In this time, Pam said to have had an out of an out of body experience, and was in the room watching her vegatable body, soon to be brought back to life, with no side effects. Remarkably, when they asked about what she saw, she explained in complete detail. http://www.near-death.com/experiences/evidence01.html
Ghosts are thought to be real to some, others a myth. But the idea of living after death is a huge part of ghosts. Ghosts don't always have to be scary either, maybe just visions, auras, or even obscure messages from a loved one, claims Veronica Keen, widower of one of Britain's most prominent phycic researchers, in an interview with The Psychic Times. Veronica told the interviewer that her husband contacted her after his death on several mediums, asking her to contact Dr. Gary Schwartz, and have Schwartz conduct research with the deceased. In the end, they conducted many experiments and, to the extreme surprise to Dr. Swartz, he had to change his straightforward views. As said by him himself, "I can no longer ignore the data and dismiss the words," he wrote in his popular but somewhat controversial book. "They are as real as the sun, the trees, and our television sets, which seem to pull pictures out of the air." (talking about seeing Mr. Keen.) This subject is very contriversial. Most people must see it with their own eyes to belive, even if the information is givin by a Harvard and Yale graduate. http://www.thepsychictimes.com/articles/life_after_death.htm
Has anyone ever told you that you looked like a bird? Cat? Maybe a monkey? There are some to belive that to be true, well in a different sence. What if in a previous life, you WERE a bird? You WERE a cat? What if when we die, instead of life being over, you go on to the next lesson. Even maybe in this life you are dependant and dirty, so in your next life you will be a cat, which is known for their independence and cleanliness. Each for our own personal lessons. given to us, all to teach us love, humbility, and pride. Recent reasearch has also shown the some young children, around the age of 3, are able to describe their previous life,in detail.

The topic of ghosts is one that will always give me chills. You can hear about their stories in many other countries and alot of them are smiliar. If there was just a way to prove if they exisit or not, would take alot of unanswered questions away.
The topic of surviving death is indeed a touchy subject. If I am correct you do seem towards the thought that there is life after death. If there is, what is it that we actually live on through? Also, I researched this site

and came across their "proof" that the Bible talks about reincarnation as what happens to you after death. Their main arguments come from the book Matthew (chpt. 11:11-15 and chpt. 17:11-15) The prophet John the Baptist is supposedly the reincarnated Elijah the prophet. If you read the verses they set out, it seems that way, but if you check the stories, Jesus is saying that John the Baptist is really just finishing Elijah's work. John even admits he is not Elijah reincarnated. Check the book John 1:21-27. He explains that he follows in the footsteps of Elijah who follows the teachings of Jesus.
